I would have it in a room that is small, maybe one window. I would not over crowd it either because it would be too distracting to me. There would be desk and comfortable black chair for writing. I would also have a coffee maker and a mini refrigerator to keep half and half in.
Might have a small tv mounted on the wall. When I am writing I like to have soft ambience music playing in the background. There would also be a small black couch for reading or taking a nap. I have a kindle but might purchase a bookshelf anyway. Gotta have a place to keep plants.
I would have a glass coffee table and have a candle sitting on top of it. And maybe two or three gothic pictures hanging on the wall.
It sounds like a small living room but that’s ok. That’s what I would want my writing area to look like. Just a cozy little space I can retreat to that’s just for me.
